HandsOn Greater Phoenix is proud to manage a team of AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America) members. These individuals dedicate a year of their lives to serving full-time in nonprofits and government agencies. During their term of service, VISTAs build the capacity of organizations established to alleviate poverty by developing sustainable programs in fundraising, volunteer coordination and project management. AmeriCorps VISTA members are not allowed to hold multiple jobs and receive a poverty-level stipend during their term so that they may better understand the lives of the clients they serve.

HandsOn VISTA members come from all across the United States and bring a variety of skills and life experiences to their terms of service here in the Valley. Placed at host sites from Tempe to Goodyear and everywhere in between, they address the wide range of critical issues affecting Greater Phoenix. Most members of the team are currently serving their second consecutive term of service, and one member is in her third consecutive term.
