Puppy Pals at Animal Care East Valley Shelter

Maricopa County Animal Care Services cares for more than 36,000 pets in a year. Most of these are energetic dogs. Puppy Pals are needed to help get them out of their kennels so they can enjoy some fresh air and TLC. Maintaining their physical and emotional well-being increases their adoptability. So come walk a dog and help save more lives!

Volunteers are required to wear closed toe shoes and long pants. We recommend bringing a reusable water bottle and wearing sunscreen. Please park in the front parking lot, and meet your volunteer leader in the shadey area south of the employee parking lot.

You are welcome to bring donated toys for the shelter. They really need toys for strong chewers- lacrosse balls, bully sticks, rawhides, toys that are made to be stuffed with food and peanut butter.

The minimum age requirement for Puppy Pals is 15 years old with a parent. All volunteers aged 16 & 17 who wish to attend a volunteer opportunity without a parent MUST bring a signed Youth Waiver.

By signing up for volunteer opportunities and not attending, you may be depriving someone else the chance to participate and the volunteer opportunity of much-needed support.
