Let's Grow Gardens Workday (Washington Manor)
Join us as we continue working on a Let's Grow endeavor! Let's Grow is a program that will increase the consumption of fresh food and vegetables among residents in low-income public housing communities, and will equip them with the knowledge and tools necessary to create healthy meals.
We need your help with ongoing maintenance of the garden. Each project will include a variety of tasks such as preparing garden beds, planting, weeding, building garden structures, irrigation and watering, and additional garden beautification projects.
The minimum age to volunteer without a parent or guardian is 16 years old; minimum age is 12 with a parent or guardian. Volunteers who are 16 & 17 coming without a parent or guardian need to bring a signed Youth Waiver Form. Volunteers should wear clothes that can get dirty and closed-toe shoes.
By signing up for volunteer opportunities and not attending, you may be depriving someone else the chance to participate and the volunteer opportunity of much-needed support. Please note that in an effort to accommodate volunteers who sign up for opportunities by choice, HandsOn does not accept court ordered volunteers and will not sign off on any court related documents.
