Swim Day with KEEN (SpoFit)

HandsOn invites you to join KEEN for a Swim Day for youth with mental and physical disabilities. This volunteer opportunity is based on the principal of pairing a volunteer with a youth athlete, and letting them discover how much they can do and how much fun they can have! You will be assisting a youth athlete in the pool. Activities will include helping them learn to swim and fun water based activities!

KEEN requires each new volunteer to complete a New Volunteer Application before you are able to volunteer. It will be helpful if you can complete this application before arriving to the project. We also ask that you watch the Initial Volunteer Training Video provided by KEEN.

Minimum age to volunteer is 16 years old. Volunteers who are 16 & 17 coming without a parent or guardian need to bring a signed Youth Waiver Form. You will need to bring your bathing suit. Locker rooms are available for changing.  Please park in the parking garage and enter through the Sports & Fitness building. We will meet in the lobby for orientation.

By signing up for volunteer opportunities and not attending, you may be depriving someone else the chance to participate and the volunteer opportunity of much-needed support. Please note that in an effort to accommodate volunteers who sign up for opportunities by choice, HandsOn does not accept court ordered volunteers and will not sign off on any court related documents.
