Teaching at 2nd Grade Health Event (Referral)
If you enjoy working with 2nd graders, being outdoors, and promoting health and wellness; AND you have morning availability in February, this opportunity is for you!
Health World Education is in need of volunteers to teach existing health lessons to 2nd graders during a spring health program at McCormick Stillman RR Park in February (see dates below).
Over the course of 10 days 2500 2nd graders from Scottsdale, Cave Creek, and PV schools come to the park to participate in this program, called "Keeping Your Health on Track".
Teachers lead 8 consecutive 10-minute lessons to rotating groups of 30 chaperoned 2nd graders. . Lesson scripts, all materials, and coffee are provided. Hours are 9am-12noon.
We are in need of teachers who can teach all or some of the days. Lessons are very basic and cover a variety of health topics (germs, exercise, food groups, water safety, tobacco prevention, etc). Teaching experience is not required, but experience with elementary school-aged students is preferred.
Dates of the program are: Feb 10, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 24, 26, and 27.
