Children's Museum of Phoenix's 2016 Gala - Treasure Island (Referral)
Join us for a swashbuckling good time as we gather together to raise (and shake) some booty for the Museum! Proceeds from our annual Gala will benefit the Children’s Museum of Phoenix’s Every Child Program, which provides free or reduced Museum admission to families battling financial, emotional or circumstantial challenges.
April 16th
- Shift 1: 8:30am-12:30pm - Privateers - Set-up - 15 volunteers. Volunteers are needed to assist staff with setting up tables, chairs, wash stations, linens, staging decor, putting out auction items and placing signage. Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.
- Shift 2: 1:00pm-5:00pm - Swashbucklers - Set-up - 15 volunteers. Volunteers are needed to assist staff with setting up tables, chairs, wash stations, linens, staging decor, putting out auction items and placing finishing touches throughout the Museum. Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.
- Shift 3: 5:00pm-9:00pm - Rum Runners - 15 volunteers. It takes a solid crew to keep our ship running in tip-top condition! Volunteers are needed to greet guests upon arrival and provide them with voting tokens for our Culinary Wars, assist with sales at the Pirate Accessories station, assist as bar backs and clean-up crew, and help our staff turn over the decorations from Treasure Island Cocktail Hour to Pirate After-Party. Volunteering for events requires carrying and/or lifting materials, standing for extended periods of time, walking, bending, kneeling, crawling and stooping. Volunteers for this shift must be 18 or older.
- Shift 4: 9:00pm-12:00am - Scallywags - Tear-down - 15 volunteers. It is time for our guests to weigh anchor and sail on home. That means all hands on deck for our volunteer crew! Assist our staff with breaking down tables, chairs, decorations, taking out trash, and closing out the evening.
