Trail & Park Beautification with Maricopa County Parks
Maricopa County is home to one of the largest regional parks systems in the nation with over 120,000 acres of open space parks that include hundreds of miles of trails, campgrounds, and nature centers. Join us each month at one of the 10 regional parks that make up this beautiful system of trails!
Various trail maintenance projects will be needed depending on the park. Some duties may include: trash clean up near rivers or lakes, painting projects, weed pulling, trailblazing, and sprucing up various park areas. Please wear appropriate clothing, close toe shoes, and wear sun screen. Please also bring a reusable water bottle.
The minimum age requirement for this volunteer opportunity is 8 years old with a parent or guardian and 14 without. All volunteers under 18 who wish to attend a volunteer opportunity without a parent MUST bring a signed Youth Volunteer Waiver. This volunteer project will go on rain or shine! Come dressed for outdoor work - long pants, work boots or tennis shoes, and plenty of sun block will be needed! Please be prepared for the possibility of interaction with various allergy inducing wildlife, including bees, desert species and various plant species. Work gloves will be provided.
