Make A Difference Day 2016: Recycle Your Bicycle for a Kid in Foster Care
Join HandsOn at Recycle Your Bicycle this Make A Difference Day; the nation's largest day of volunteer service! Do you remember when you received your first bike? If you are like me, you remember the color, the shape and probably even the name. Many of the kids in foster care have never had their own bike. This October 22nd, HandsOn volunteers will also help take part in an amazing and fulfilling movement to help provide Arizona children in foster care with a bike to call their own! Volunteers will work to clean and prepare bikes for children including making some light and medium mechanical repairs to ensure that bikes are in tip top shape for the children. No prior bike mechanical experience is necessary! Just bring yourself, and we will take care of the rest!
The youngest age to volunteer at Recycle Your Bicycle is 10 years old. The minimum age to volunteer without a parent or guardian is 16 years old. Volunteers who are 16 & 17 coming without a parent or guardian need to bring a signed Youth Waiver Form. Volunteers 15 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
Volunteers should wear clothes that can get dirty and closed-toe shoes.
