Opportunity Details
Dream Center Volunteers with St. Vincent de Paul
The St. Vincent de Paul Dream Center provides service to the children that come to the dining room by focusing upon engagement through educational activities and individual mentoring. The Center addresses educational barriers and challenges kids to pursue brighter futures, where they learn to dream of all they can become. HandsOn volunteers will offer a variety of activities to help the children excel at school, learn new skills, and build their self-esteem. Volunteer duties include but are not limited to: setting up homework tables, putting out books and journals, assisting with crafts or educational projects, 1:1 tutoring, engaging the children, and cleaning up. The minimum age for this opportunity is 9 with an adult and 14 without an adult. Volunteers who wish to attend this volunteer opportunity without a parent MUST bring a signed Youth Volunteer Waiver with them to every project. Court-ordered volunteers cannot attend this project to complete service hours. If you would like to register your child, please email the opportunity coordinator listed below and ask to reserve a guest slot. Please note, volunteers 13 years or older can create their own HandsOn account and sign up for opportunities directly (activation fee is not applicable for those under the age of 16).
