There are plenty of volunteer opportunities and organizations to give to this holiday season across the Phoenix Valley. Check out the projects below to donate time or supplies to help those in need during the holidays. 


Holiday Volunteer Opportunities:

Salvation Army- SA has a variety of offerings this holiday season including its annual Thanksgiving Dinner and Christmas Dinner which provides a holiday meal and lots of fun activities for about 3,000 guests. Greeters and Hall of Joy volunteers are needed.

The Foster Alliance Holiday Joy Fest- The Foster Alliance (formerly Arizona Helping Hands) is throwing their annual Holiday Joy Fest at the Phoenix Campus, where foster families and advocates choose the perfect gifts to celebrate the children in their care. The Foster Alliance needs help collecting donations, sorting toys, decorating, and helping families find the perfect presents.

St. Mary’s Food Bank- volunteers are needed to pack food boxes and distribute food during the busy holiday season.

St. Vincent de Paul – serve meals throughout the holiday season, including on Thanksgiving and Christmas day


In-Kind Donation Drives:

Fry’s Food Stores Drive- Valley food banks are in need of nonperishable high-protein food items (e.g. peanut butter, canned soups, canned fruits and vegetables, canned beans, canned meats and fish, whole grain cereal, whole grain pasta, and brown rice). Donation bins are located at the front of every Fry’s store in Arizona. At checkout, you’ll also have the option of donating money directly benefitting local food banks.

The Foster Alliance Holiday Joy Drive- Donate toys benefitting foster children at one of these Valley locations.

Toys for Tots donations- Ensure every child receives a gift this holiday season by donating toys through the Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots. Drop your donations at locations around the valley.
