Observed each year on the third Monday in January as “a day on, not a day off,” MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities. While we might not gather in the numbers we usually do, we invite you to join us in using the holiday as a time to learn, listen, and reflect on the racial injustice that still exists in our country.

In 2022, we mobilized volunteers to help build Dr. King’s vision of the “Beloved Community”. Volunteers spent a Saturday morning picking citrus fruit at Saguaro Ranch in Glendale, which went to local foodbanks. Team Depot went to both VALLEYLIFE and Taft Elementary school. The volunteers rebuilt garden beds, planted trees, painted murals, among other tasks.
