Saturday Dinner Party at U.S. Vets
HandsOn invites you to join our friendly chef partner, Mike, at U.S. VETS for a fun cooking prep party! From delicious meats to fresh vegetables, over 60 veterans will be appreciative of the food you prepare. The volunteer opportunity includes dinner prep, meal service, and after-party clean up to assist in organizing the U.S. VETS Kitchen. Please bring a dessert to share - home baked or store bought would be great! U.S. VETS provides housing, counseling, job assistance, and hope to thousands of homeless veterans each year. Their programs foster the skills necessary for every veteran to return to the community and remain self-sufficient.
The minimum age to volunteer is 18 years old. Volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes and dress for preparing food. Long har should be pulled back or covered with a hat. Plastic aprons and gloves will be provided in the kitchen. Upon entering the building, check in at the front window and follow the signs to the kitchen.
By signing upu for volunteer opportunities and not attending, you may be depriving someone else the chance to volunteer and the volunteer opportunity of much needed support. Please note that in an effort to accommodate volunteers who sign up for opportunities by choice, HandsOn does not accept court ordered volunteers and will not sign off on any court related documents.
