Youth Enrichment Mentor (Referral)

Rehoboth Community Development Corporation's P.E.A.C.E. (People Educating and Centering Efforts) Program is looking for male and female mentors to commit to teaching a pre-constructed youth soft/life-skills development curriculum every Tuesday night from 5:30p-7:30p for nine consecutive weeks (omitting the weeks of November 13th and 20th). This program provides at-risk youth (particularly those in CPS custody and foster care) with life skills workshops and training in self-confidence, advocacy, financial literacy, leadership development, work readiness and career planning and will run from September 25th until December 4th. We are also in need of mentors to volunteer on an "on-call" status for the duration of the program.

 

Candidate must be able to pass a criminal background check (candidates must not have any felonies involving crimes against children);

Candidates must be able to provide a transparent, fun and creative atmosphere while managing boundaries;

Candidates must be available to teach from 5:30p-7:30p;

Experience in teaching and/or mentoring is preferred but all applicants will be considered;

Candidates above the age of 21 are preferred; however, we will strongly consider all candidates 18 years and older- especially those in college pursuing a degree in related fields of study
