Birthday Bash at Casa de Paz Sahuaro
Join us for a morning of birthday party fun! Volunteers will help facilitate a birthday celebration each month for the families at Casa de Paz Sahuaro. Volunteers will decorate the facility, oversee activities for the children and create a fun-filled, inclusive birthday experience for the low-income families living there.
The minimum age for this volunteer opportunity is 6. All volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent. Those aged 16 and 17 who wish to attend the project MUST bring a signed Youth Volunteer Waiver to each volunteer opportunity.
Store-bought food and decorations are greatly appreciated -please plan to provide for up to 40 children. The following are examples of appropriate snacks and party items: Individually wrapped snacks (chips, crackers, cookies, etc.), juice boxes, streamers, balloons, card-making supplies, arts and crafts projects, games/activities, and gift items (back to school kits, puzzles, books, games, sports balls, NEW stuffed animals, etc.) Any gift items should be wrapped with a tag or notation on the gift with gender and age for the appropriate recipient.
By signing up for volunteer opportunities and not attending, you may be depriving someone else the chance to participate and the volunteer opportunity of much-needed support. Please note that in an effort to accommodate volunteers who sign up for opportunities by choice, HandsOn does not accept court ordered volunteers and will not sign off on any court-related documents.
