9/11: Veteran Home Painting with City of Mesa

Join us as we give back to an Air Force Veteran by painting the exterior of his home. Please wear comfortable clothes that can get paint on them and close-toed shoes. Our military personnel sacrifice so much for us and this is one of the many ways we can show our appreciation. All painting materials will be provided. Please view Parking Instructions prior to the project.

Joseph Magers is an Arizona native who was raised outside the state of Arizona, but returned when assigned to Davis Monthan Air Force Base in the early 1980’s.  At the completion of six year active duty in the U.S. Air Force, Joseph decided to settle in his native state. Since 1985, he has lived in Mesa and worked in the valley.  Joseph has three children, two grown boys and one younger daughter.  His oldest son is living in Chandler, and his youngest son is currently on active duty as a Navy FMF Corpsman supporting USMC operations in Yuma. His young daughter lives at home and attends a local elementary school.  During soccer season you can find Joseph out on the field serving as a volunteer referee for AYSO, and cheering for his daughter’s soccer team.

The minimum age for this project is 16. Volunteer's ages 16 & 17 who wish to participate without a parent/guardian must bring a signed Youth Waiver Form with them to the project.
