Serve-A-Thon PHX: BUILD + CREATE + BEAUTIFY
In this working design/build morning HandsOn has partnered with Phoenix Urban Design Week (#PHXUDW) to activate a formerly blighted, vacant lot. Volunteers will make picnic tables and a set of front-porch-stoops to encourage future community conversations and gatherings in. We will work with our local AIGA (https://arizona.aiga.org/) chapter of graphic designers to weave a vibrant chain-link typography installation in the parking lot, beautifying Van Buren Street and building the foundation for more maker collaborations to come at The Chicanos Por La Causa Pickle House.
Please wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty and paint on them and close-toed shoes. The minimum age for this project is 12. Volunteer's ages 16 & 17 who wish to participate without a parent/guardian must bring a signed Youth Waiver Form with them to the project.
By signing up for volunteer opportunities and not attending, you may be depriving someone else the chance to participate and the volunteer opportunity of much-needed support.
