Game Day at Dysart Community Center
Lace up those gym shoes! Volunteers are needed to run gym activities with the kids at Dysart Community Center in El Mirage. You can help facilitate games such as dodgeball, basketball, soccer, and tag!
The center provides educational and developmental opportunities for low-income children and adults in the local community. The center offers after-school and summer programs for youth ages 5-17 for only $1 per day. The Youth Development program goals are to encourage students to remain in school and continue on to higher education, learn the importance of being a good citizen, and understand what it means to be a positive role model.
The minimum age requirements for this volunteer opportunity is 16 years old. All volunteers under 18 who wish to attend a volunteer opportunity without a parent MUST bring a signed Youth Volunteer Waiver. Volunteers can park inside the gated parking lot in front of the center. Volunteers should arrive at 3:30pm to help with set up of supplies and materials. The children will be arriving at 4pm for the evening's project.
By signing up for volunteer opportunities and not attending, you may be depriving someone else the chance to participate and the volunteer opportunity of much-needed support. Please note that in an effort to accommodate volunteers who sign up for opportunities by choice, HandsOn does NOT accept court ordered volunteers and will NOT sign off on any court-related documents.
