http://www.azoic.org/default.htmThe Opportunities Industrialization Centers (OIC) is a network of comprehensive employment training programs across the nation. The first OIC was founded in Philadelphia in 1964. From its beginnings in an abandoned jailhouse, OIC has grown today into an organization which serves disadvantaged and under-skilled Americans of all races. The Arizona Opportunities Industrialization Center was founded in April 1967, as a private, nonprofit, community based organization, designed to address the critical employability needs of Phoenix's economically disadvantaged and ethnic minority citizens. Since 1967, Arizona OIC has served over 50,000 and placed more than 30,000 in meaningful jobs. Our clients are economically disadvantaged and face significant barriers to employment. Within this population, we have been servicing all segments: those with limited English proficiency school dropouts, teenage parents, ex-offenders, handicapped, dislocated workers, homeless, and displaced homemakers.
