Keeping Your Health on Track 2nd Grade Health and Safety Program

McCormick Stillman Railroad Park

Health World Education, a children's health and safety nonprofit, is in need of teachers to teach short health lessons to 2nd graders during an outreach program at McCormick Stillman RR Park in Scottsdale. This year's event will take place February 16, 17, 22, 23, and 24 2023.

2nd graders from schools in Scottsdale, Cave Creek, and Paradise Valley come to the park to participate in this program over the course of the week.

Teachers will lead eight consecutive 10-minute lessons to rotating groups of 30 chaperoned 2nd graders. Teachers report to the park at 9am (begin teaching at 9:30), and are finished by 12noon. The lesson and all materials are provided. Lessons are very basic and cover a variety of health topics (exercise, food groups, water safety, tobacco prevention, breathing strategies, dental health etc). Teaching experience is not required, but experience with elementary school-aged students is preferred.
