Volunteer Musicians Needed in Phoenix with Musicians On Call! (Referral)
Musicians On Call (MOC) is a nonprofit organization that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients, families and caregivers in healthcare environments. You can help deliver the healing power of music in Phoenix!
Volunteer opportunities are available at:
-Phoenix VA
-Phoenix Children's Hospital
MOC Volunteer Musicians perform acoustically at the bedsides of patients and are always accompanied by a trained MOC Volunteer Guide. The Volunteer Musician plays one song per room and interacts with patients, their families and hospital staff. All music must be memorized and lyrics and commentary MUST be appropriate for a hospital setting. MOC has a song database that musicians must pick from when they select their repertoire for hospital visits. Other material outside of the approved song list may be submitted to MOC staff for approval.
Volunteer Musician applicants must submit an audition video which will be evaluated for suitability prior to acceptance into the program. MOC’s certification process is as follows:
- Volunteer Audition Video and Application
- MOC Certification (includes background check)
- Option to shadow an MOC Bedside shift prior to start date
Individual healthcare facilities may have additional requirements including TB tests and/or flu/COVID shots.
