Join us for HandsOn's Give Back Bash- one week of youth friendly volunteer opportunities just for families looking to serve together this summer!
Monday through Friday, June 15th - 19th, we invite families with kids as young as 8 years old to attend one or all five of our featured volunteer opportunities. Whether you want to spend one day giving back, or deepen your impact by participating in all five events, we would love to have you join us! Each event will also involve an educational component to teach youth about the issues our community faces, the work being done to solve them, and how we can come together to make change.
If you are an adult without children looking for volunteer opportunities, please do not register for this event. The Youth Give Back Bash is reserved for youth and families.
DAY ONE: United Food Bank Packing Party
Come on down to the United Food Bank to pack emergency food bags for local community members! Play a key role in fighting hunger by preparing hundreds of food bags for individuals and families in need.
Be sure to wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Please note, this opportunity involves lots of walking and lifting 10-13 pound bags.
The minimum age for this volunteer opportunity is 8 with a parent or guardian. All Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Volunteers ages 16 and 17 who aren't attending a project with a parent/guardian MUST bring a Youth Waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
At the request of United Food Bank, all volunteers must register via their website. Please register independently and do not create accounts on behalf of other volunteers. Once you click Sign Up below, you will be redirected to the registration link.
To reserve a slot for your child, please email the opportunity coordinator listed below and let them know how many children you wish to bring (this is in addition to registering through United Food Bank's link). Please note, volunteers 13 years or older can create their own HandsOn account and sign up for opportunities directly (activation fee is not applicable for those under the age of 16).
