Nature Nurturers at Escalante Community Garden
The Escalante Community Garden is a garden that follows a communal model with healthy growing practices. A portion of the garden’s harvest is given to Tempe Community Action Agency's Food Pantry to supplement emergency food boxes. The garden features a children's area, as well as a desert and herb garden.
Volunteers will help care for the garden. Duties may include weeding, planting, pruning, and harvesting!Please wear closed-toe shoes, and clothes that can get dirty. Bring SPF and water!
The minimum age for this volunteer opportunity is 8 with a parent or guardian. All Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Volunteers ages 16 and 17 who aren't attending a project with a parent/guardian MUST bring a Youth Waiver signed by a parent or guardian, to each project.If you would like to register your child, please email the opportunity coordinator listed below and ask to reserve a guest slot. Please note, volunteers 13 years or older can create their own HandsOn account and sign up for opportunities directly (activation fee is not applicable for those under the age of 16).
