http://www.FSOHinc.orgThe mission of First Step of Hope is to provide women, children & vulnerable adults of Arizona a safe space for growth, teach a multitude of skills to empower the women to self-sufficiency, provide counseling, create job referrals, and facilitate the possible reunification of clients with their children. First Step of Hope realizes that in addition to the risks and obstacles faced by all poor people, poor battered women face additional batterer-generated risks, of abject poverty and homelessness. Furthermore, the children of battered also suffer similar fate. The mission therefore is to break the difficult cycle of poverty through micro-enterprise technical training and counseling to foster economic self-sufficiency, through self-determination which hopefully will generate a multiplier effect and foster sustainable economic growth in their various communities.
