Founded in 1970, Friendship Retirement Corporation dba Glencroft Center for Modern Aging provides housing and services to nearly 900 low/moderate income older adults. It is Arizona’s largest continuing care retirement community, offering a range of housing options including Glendale’s only HUD subsidized apartments for low-income seniors. The organization takes a holistic approach to aging successfully. Its mission is to provide a broad continuum of high-quality services in a manner that demonstrates Christian love and compassion. The primary goal is creating an environment that inspires residents to experience enriched and fulfilling lives achieving and maintaining a healthy quality of life. Most residents are moderate or low-income, with an average age of 83 and females comprise 67% of residents. Glencroft’s client base are low socio-economic seniors. Roughly 40% of residents on campus rely on Arizona’s Long-term Care System (ALTCS).
